CAUTION: Follow these procedures to correctly power OFF the machine. While performing a power ON or power OFF may seem self-explanatory, there are a few conventions to adhere to in order to avoid damage to the machine and / or loss of data.

NOTE: Certain error conditions may occur if the machine is powered OFF, then powered ON too quickly. After the printer has been powered OFF, wait at least 30 seconds before powering ON.

If the machine is in Low Power Mode, you must press a key on the keyboard to activate the machine before powering OFF.
  1. From the DocuSP Display Screen, logon as Operator or System Administrator. See the Related Content for additional information.

  2. Click on [System] from the menu. A drop-down menu will be displayed.

  3. NOTE: Pressing the power switch (located to the right of the DocuSP Display Screen) to power OFF the digital copier / printer will display the same screen.

  4. Click on [Shutdown] or [Immediate Shutdown].

  5. NOTE: An Immediate Shutdown may take up to 3 minutes to complete. The Shutdown selection may take longer since it completes printing current jobs before initiating the power down sequence.

    • 'System Shutdown' is the most controlled shutdown that completes jobs currently printing or scanning.

    • 'Immediate Shutdown' will cause the system to stop accepting new jobs, abort all on-going operations, and execute a controlled shutdown.

  6. Wait for the status window to finish displaying the 'Power down in progress' message, then power OFF any third party peripheral equipment.
