Create a ScanBox on the Creo Spire Color Server Version 1.5 for Scanning With the Xerox 700i/700 Digital Color Press

This solution will provide the steps necessary to open and then create a ScanBox on the Creo Spire Color Server for scanning purposes. 

NOTE: Make sure the Remote Scan utility is installed and functioning properly before this solution is performed. See the Related Content for additional information.

To open the Remote Scan Application

For a Microsoft Windows OS:

  1. Click on the [Start] button on the taskbar, select [Programs], then [Creo], then [Remote Scan Application], and then click on [Remote Scan]. 

  2. Enter the Server Name (Host name) or IP address of the Creo in the Server Name or IP field, and then click on [Connect]. The connection icon will join together and turn from red to green to signify a connection has been established with the server’s scanning.  The Remote Scan Application’s window will be displayed where you can access scans, create edit and delete Scan Boxes.  

For an Apple Macintosh OS:

  1. Double-click on the [Hard Drive] icon.

  2. Double-click on the [Applications] folder.

  3. Click on [Remote Scan].

  4. Enter the Server Name (Host name) or IP address of the Creo in the Server Name or IP field, and then click on [Connect]. The connection icon will join together and turn from red to green to signify a connection has been established with the server’s scanning.  The Remote Scan Application’s window will be displayed where you can access scans, create edit and delete Scan Boxes.

To create a ScanBox

In the ScanBox Manager window, you can add, edit and delete ScanBoxes.

  1. To access the ScanBox Manager, click on the [ScanBox Manager] button on the right side.

  2. To add a ScanBox, click on the [Add] button below the list of existing ScanBoxes.

  3. Enter the name of the ScanBox (no spaces) in the ScanBox name field.

  4. Click on the [Automatic Copy] check box.

  5. Enter the IP address or Host Name and Share Name of the SMB share in the following format:
    \\\\hostname or \\\\ipaddress\\share in the network path field.

  6. Click on [Save] to add the new template to the list.
