Image Quality Example of Repeating Spots or Lines

To test if the drum cartridge is the cause of the image quality defect, swap the drum cartridge of the color (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) with the defect with another drum cartridge.

Example:

• R1 is the black drum cartridge

• R2 is the cyan drum cartridge

• R3 is the magenta drum cartridge

• R4 is the yellow drum cartridge

If you have black lines (R1), swap the R1 drum cartridge with any other color drum cartridge. In this example, we will use the R3 drum cartridge (magenta).

1. Print the Repeating Defects Page to Determine the Component Causing the Image Quality Defect.

2. Make sure the paper being used is not the cause of the issue. For additional information, click on Eliminate the Paper/Media as the Cause of the Issue.

3. Clean the Print Head Lenses.

4. Replace the appropriate drum cartridge. For additional information, click on Replace the Drum Cartridge(s).
