Print Output Too Light- Print output is too light, faint, or washed out; solid areas not black or inconsistent shading; part of image missing. 

Note: Check basic SLM settings. For critical IQ jobs, ensure DFE is setup and calibrated for specific papers.

Note: Defect can result when too little toner of a single color or combination of colors is developed on the print. This results in lighter copies or prints for the single-color toner or the color that results from the combination of color toners.

If SW version is not 100.10.81 or higher schedule a service call.  Continue with corrective actions

Run the  Clean Toner Procedure

Is the defect gone?

(No) Go to step 3.

(Yes) Call complete. Note: Inform customer if problem comes back, they may need to setup Secondary Transfer Voltage.

Move the Drum Cartridge from a color showing the defect to a color that does not show the defect.

The defect moves with the Drum Cartridge?

(No) Go to step 4. The problem is not the Drum.

(YesReplace the Drum Cartridge with defects.

Adjust the FWA Automatic Density Uniformity

 

Is the defect resolved?

(No) Go to step 5.

(Yes) Call complete.   Note: Inform customer if problem returns they may need to setup Secondary Transfer Voltage.

Refer to the SLM Advanced Stock Setup Options. Perform Secondary Transfer Voltage adjustments: 

Auto Adjustment Option (Secondary Transfer Voltage Adjustment)

Manual Adjustment Option (Secondary Transfer Voltage Adjustment)

Is the defect gone?

(Yes) Call complete.

(No) Call for service.
