If connected via a USB cable, try a new USB cable. The USB cable should be one single cable that is shorter than 12 feet in length.
Make sure the USB cable is connected directly from the computer to the printer. Do not connect the printer to a USB hub for connectivity as it is not supported and can cause communication issues.
If connected via a Wi-Fi Ethernet network, print a configuration page to verify that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. If it is not, reconnect the printer to the correct Wi-Fi Ethernet network. For details, refer to Connect the Printer to a Wireless (Wi-Fi) Network Using the Xerox Easy Wireless Setup Program.
If connected via Wired Ethernet, try a different Ethernet cable and verify that the port that the printer is connected to is working.
