Connect the Printer to the Computer Using a USB Cable

If you want to connect the printer to one computer only and do not have a network, use a USB connection.

Notes:

  • A USB connection offers fast data speeds, but typically not as fast as a network connection.

  • A USB cable is not included with your printer and must be purchased separately.

  • Viewing and configuring settings using Xerox CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS) is not supported over a USB connection. Settings must be configured using Xerox Easy Printer Manager.

  • Xerox Easy Print Manager is no longer supported for Mac OS 10.15 or above. 

Connect the Printer to the Computer Using a USB Cable

  1. Connect the one end of the USB AB cable to the USB B port on the back of the printer.

  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a standard USB A connection on your computer.

  3. Connect the power cord to the printer, then plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.

  4. Power the printer on.

  5. Install the printer software on your computer. For additional information refer toInstall Printer Drivers and Software for Microsoft Windows.

  6. Configure settings using Xerox Easy Printer Manager.

    1. At your computer, open Easy Printer Manager.

    2. Click Printer, then select the USB connected printer.

    3. Click Advanced Settings or Machine Settings.

    4. Configure the device and network settings as required.

    5. Click Save.
