This error is caused by a security certificate not being renewed after it has expired on System Software Levels below 65.31.81.

    1. Upgrade your printer to the latest Software General Release. For details refer to Upgrade the Firmware (Software) Using the Firmware Download Utility or see the Related Content for a link to the Drivers and Downloads page.

Note: If the software level is 65.51.01 or higher then troubleshoot the issue using solutions below:

The IP address source is set to DHCP. The Ethernet and/or wireless network connections are not set up or connected correctly; therefore, the printer is not receiving an IP address from a DHCP route.

  1. Power Off the Printer, Wait 10 Seconds, Then Power On the Printer.

  2. If you are using an Ethernet connection, Make Sure the Ethernet (Network) Cable on the Back of the Printer is Securely Connected.

  3. If using a wireless connection, ensure the wireless network is connected:

    1. Press the Home button on the printer control panel.

    2. Log in as an administrator.

    3. Touch Device.

    4. Touch Connectivity.

    5. Touch Wi-Fi.

    6. Ensure that the Wi-Fi toggle button is enabled.

    7. Touch Manual Setup.

    8. In the first field, type a name for the Wi-Fi network.

    9. Touch Network Type, then select an option.

    10. Touch Security, then select an option.

    11. Touch Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), then select an option.

    12. Touch OK.

  4. Check the Configured DNS Settings Within the Printer's Embedded Web Server.

  5. Assign a Static IP Address for the Printer.

  6. If the problem persists, contact Support for additional assistance.
