CAUTION: The Bypass Tray (Tray 5) was designed to only lower to a 45 degree angle. Do not force the tray past this angle or it will break.

Paper Loading Guidelines:

  • Do not overfill the paper trays. Do not load paper above the maximum fill line in the tray.

  • Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper size.

  • Fan paper before loading it in the paper tray.

  • If excessive jams occur, use paper or other approved media from a new package.

  • Use only recommended Xerox transparencies. Print quality could vary with other transparencies.

  • Do not print on label media once a label has been removed from a sheet.

  • Use only paper envelopes. Print envelopes 1-sided only.

Tray 5 is located on the left side of the printer. You can close the tray when it is not in use. You can use the tray for small jobs or for jobs that use special media such as labels, transparencies, and envelopes.

When the printer detects media in Tray 5, the control panel displays the paper settings for the tray. Confirm or change the settings for the media loaded in the tray.

Note: Ensure that you select the correct media type for the paper that is loaded in the tray. The printer detects different types of media as each page travels through the paper path. If a paper-type setting does not match the paper type loaded in the printer, the job stops printing.
