How To Purge / Clean Residual Dry Ink / Toner From the Developer Module

Dry Ink/Toner Cleaning

The following cleaning procedure purges the system of any residual dry ink/toner clumps that possibly collected in the devleoper module.

Allows you to clean one or all of the dry ink/toner cartridge systems. You can run this cleaning procedure if you are experiencing image quality issues, such as white or dark spots or blotches on the prints. These spots or blotches are caused by dry ink/toner adhering to the drum.

Perform the following steps to clean one or all of the dry ink/toner cartridge dispensers.

Note: Run a few test prints before performing the cleaning procedure. After you click the Start Cleaning button, the system automatically generates a test print. By running test prints before the cleaning process, you can compare the image quality of prints before and after cleaning.

1. Click Log In from the Control Center and log in as the Administrator.

2. Click the Maintenance button.

3. Select the check box next to the dry ink/toners to be cleaned.

4. Click the Start Cleaning button to begin the cleaning process.

5. Select the appropriate paper tray and feed orientation: Long Edge Feed or Short Edge Feed.

6. Click the Start button to begin.

   When the process is complete, a Cleaning is complete message appears on the screen.

7. Click Close to exit.
