Print With the @PrintByXerox App

Note: To configure the Xerox device for the Internet, use a proxy setting.

  1. Send an email with an attachment containing a supported file type to Print@printbyxerox.com.
    First-time users receive a response email with a User ID and Password.

    Note: See below for a list of supported file types.

  2. From the Xerox device control panel, touch @PrintByXerox. A Loading Details message appears.

  3. Enter your email address, then touch Save.

  4. On the Enter password screen, use the onscreen keyboard, enter your password, then touch Save.

  5. Select the documents that you want to print.

  6. Touch Print Options, then touch OK.

  7. Touch Print.

    • A Submitting Jobs to Print message and conversion state appears.

    • A green check mark appears when the documents begin to print.

  8. When finished, to return to the Home screen, touch Exit.

The following table lists the supported file types and the expectations when printing a file.

Emails sent in .eml and .msg files with text and graphics will print as expected. Some variation in print may occur with html-based email communications.

GIF images

Each GIF image is printed on a separate page.

JPG images

Each JPG image is printed on a separate page.

PDF

.pdf

Documents print as expected.

PNG

.png

Each PNG image is printed on a separate page.

Microsoft Excel

.xls, .xlsm, .xlsx

Excel spreadsheets must be formatted for printing before sending the email. For example, selecting and saving the printable area and desired page breaks must take place prior to submission to ensure desired page formatting.

Microsoft PowerPoint

.ppt, .pptm, .pptx

All slides print as expected. Handouts, note pages, and outlines are not printed.

Microsoft Word

.doc, .docm, .docx, .rtf

Documents print as expected.

Open Document document creation

.odt

Documents print as expected.

Open Document formula creation

.odf

Documents print as expected.

Open Document graphic creation

.odg

Documents print as expected.

Open Document presentation creation

.odp

All slides print as expected. Handouts, note pages, and outlines are not printed.

Open Document spreadsheet creation

.ods

Excel spreadsheets must be formatted for printing before sending the email. For example, selecting and saving the printable area and desired page breaks must take place prior to submission to the ensure desired page format- ting.

Text files

.txt

Documents print as expected.

TIFF images

.tif, tiff

Each TIFF image is printed on a separate page.

Unformatted, text-only email printing

n/a

Plain text emails print as expected.

Zip

.zip

Zip files may contain file types that are not supported. Supported file types in a zip file will print even if the zip file also contains unsupported file types.
