Replace the Waste Toner (Dry Ink) Container

CAUTION: Do not use warm water or cleaning solvents to remove Toner from your skin or clothing. This will set the Toner and make it difficult to remove. If any Toner gets on your skin or clothing, use a brush to remove the Toner, or wash it off with cold water and mild soap.

NOTE: A message will be displayed on the Touch Screen when the Waste Toner Container is full and will continue to display until the container is replaced. The machine will stop copying or printing after another 18,000 copies / prints are made.

Using Waste Toner Containers that are not recommended by Xerox may impair image quality and performance. Use recommended containers only.

  1. Make sure that the machine has stopped copying / printing, then open the Front Door on the machine.

  2. Open the Waste Toner Container Cover and push the lever down.

  3. Grasp the handle on the container with one hand, and pull the container out of the machine half way.

  4. With the other hand, grasp the top middle section of the container, and then pull the rest of the container out of the machine. Use both hands to remove the container.

  5. Hold the used container firmly with both hands and place it in the plastic bag that is provided with the new container.

    NOTE: Dispose of the old container as normal office waste or recycle it in accordance with local regulations.

  6. Remove the new container from its packaging.

  7. Grasp the top, middle section of the new container and slide it into the machine until it clicks into position.

    NOTE: When inserting the container, do not grab the container handle.

  8. Close the Waste Toner Container Cover.

  9. Close the Front Door.

    NOTE: A message will be displayed and the machine will not operate if the Front Door is not closed properly.
