* Can be stapled; however, binding accuracy or feed performance cannot be guaranteed.

Values in the table indicating the maximum number of sheets that can be stapled were evaluated using the following paper types: 82 g/m2, Colotech+ (200 g/m2, 250 g/m2, 350 g/m2)

Important:

  • Jobs printed on recommended media where the number of pages is within the limits can still have staple faults depending on the following factors:

    • Media type used (specifically, gloss coated stocks)

    • Environment where the press resides (room temperature and humidity)

    • Print data

  • In an environment at a low temperature and low humidity, the stapling of 40 sheets or more can cause paper jams.

  • Some coated stocks may have higher densities and resistance to stapler penetration, especially in cooler environments. In these cases, the maximum stapled set size may not be possible and an alternate coated stock my be required.

Note:

  • The press determines stock type and stock weight based on paper information set for the job, and not based on the stock actually loaded in the tray.

  • The press determines the number of sheets per job based on job information. Therefore, when multifeeds occur, stapling continues even if the number of sheets fed exceeds the limit. However, this event can cause staple faults.
