CAUTION: Follow these procedures to correctly power ON and power OFF the machine. While performing a power ON and power OFF (POPO) may seem self-explanatory, there are a few conventions to adhere to in order to avoid damage to the machine and / or loss of data.

NOTE: Certain error conditions may occur if the machine is powered OFF, then powered ON too quickly. After the printer has been powered OFF, wait at least 30 seconds before powering ON.
  1. Power ON any third party peripheral equipment.

  2. NOTE: Xerox equipment modules do not have power buttons as they are powered ON electronically.

  3. To power ON the machine, press the [|] symbol. The power switch is the white switch located on the front of the machine and to the the right of the DocuSP Display Screen. The system begins its power ON / boot sequence.

  4. NOTE: Do not click anywhere on the DocuSP Display Screen before the machine completes the boot sequence. The system will take several minutes before it is ready for use.

As the system powers ON, both the Ethernet address (Network Interface Card - NIC hardware address) and the hostname will be displayed on the DocuSP Display Screen.

The system is ready when the DocuSP Display Screen displays 'Scanner Idle' and 'Printer Idle' respectively in the status window.
