Replace the Cleaning Cartridge (Fuser Web)

WARNING: The Fuser and surrounding area may become hot during operation. To avoid injury, wait approximately 50 minutes from the time the machine is powered off to allow the machine to cool down.

Fuser Oil can cause irritation upon contact with the eye. Make sure to wash your handsthoroughly with soap andwater after completing this procedure.Be careful not to touch other areas of the machine after servicing the Fuser area.

NOTE: It is recommended to read through all of the installation instructions before performing this procedure.

  1. Make sure that the machine has stopped copying / printing, and then Power Off the Machine.

  2. Allow the machine to cool for approximately 50 minutes.

  3. Prepare a work surface.

  4. Open the Front Door.

  5. Move handle 2 to the right and down to the unlocked position.

  6. Pull the drawer out until it stops.

  7. Completely loosen the knob with your fingers or an appropriate tool.

  8. Completely loosen the screw with the torx tool. The tool is provided in the Fuser Web box.

  9. Using both hands, remove the Fuser Web by lifting the assembly straight up.

  10. Place the used Fuser Web on the prepared work surface.

    IMPORTANT: Place any suspected defective Fuser Web that is removed from the printer in protective wrapping/packaging material for situations where it may still be a functioning Fuser Web. If you do not have the original packaging material, use the packaging from the new Fuser Web.

  11. Remove the new Fuser Web from its box. Remove the foam padding and the plastic wrap. Be careful not to unravel the web material while handling the assembly.

  12. Position the Fuser Web on top of the Fuser so the screws line up with the holes.

  13. Tighten the knob at the rear of the Fuser Web. Assembly and tighten the front screw with the torx tool.

  14. Grasp handle 2, push in on the drawer, and then move the handle to the left and up to the locked position.

  15. Close the Front Door.

  16. Simultaneously press the [9] button on the numeric keypad and the [Stop] button on the Control Panel. A message asking if the Cleaning Cartridge has been replaced will be displayed on the Touch Screen.

  17. Select [Yes] to clear the message.

  18. If the message to replace cartridge does not go away it may be necessary to Power off and on the printer

Note: Save the used Fuser Web for recycling and give to your service provider on their next visit.
