Fault Code: 32.40, 32.41, 32.42, 32.43 Unsupported Toner Message

There are several reasons this fault code can occur:

  • A non-Xerox toner cartridge has been inserted into the device. Install a Genuine Xerox Toner Cartridge to clear the fault.

  • A Metered Toner Cartridge has been inserted into the device that does not meet FW requirements for metered toner support. Install latest FW found on Xerox.com

    Note: To upgrade your software, the device must be in a ready state. To return to ready state, reinsert the original Sold (Non-Metered) Toner Cartridge or a new Sold (Non-Metered) Toner Cartridge to clear the fault and then proceed with upgrading the software. The Sold (Non-Metered) Toner Cartridge can remain in the device until an Out of Toner message is indicated. For information on upgrading your software refer to Upgrade the Firmware / Software.

  • Starter cartridge that has been used in another device has been installed. Fault code would be 32.4xD

  • Defective toner installed in device

Important: Make sure that the Toner Cartridge is a Genuine Xerox Cartridge.

  1. Remove and Reinstall the Toner Cartridge

  2. Ensure that all packaging material (red tape) is removed from the toner cartridge.

  3. If the problem persists, contact Support for additional assistance.
