WARNING:Keep head, tools, and all other objects from the inside of the belt module cavity with power applied to the Print Engine. There is a risk of potential laser radiation, in the event of a system failure, and could result in a serious eye injury.

WARNING:
Wear eye protection and gloves when performing the following procedure. Failure to wear eye protection or gloves could result in serious personal injury.

Remove the Developer Housing Wire Module:

  1. Put on gloves and safety glasses.

  2. Undock the PR Module. See the Related Content for additional information.

WARNING:The ROS emits a laser beam that could cause serious permanent damage to the eyes if directly viewed or viewed from a surface that may have reflected the laser beam. Always check that the ROS Laser LEDs on the PR Module show the green LED lit and the yellow LED not lit. This indicates that the print engine is in a safe state and the ROS is not emitting lasers.

    WARNING:
Do not attempt to perform repair activities on any part of the machine that is above the shoulder height without using the Elevated Platform. Performing service activities with arms in a position above the shoulder height may cause personal injury.

  3. Pull out the appropriate Developer Housing Assembly to the service position. See the Related Content for additional information.

CAUTION:Do not pull on the locating arm of the developer housing. A bent or damaged locating arm can cause component damage or image quality artifacts.

    CAUTION:
Do not touch the Electrostatic Voltmeter [ESV] mounted to the top of the developer housing when removing the wire module. The ESV is fragile, and susceptible to damage from electrostatic discharge.

  4. Remove the Developer Housing Wire Module:

CAUTION:Do not damage the wires on the assembly. The wires are easily broken so handle the assembly carefully.

    1. Using one hand grip the Wire Module in the areas indicated and prepare to remove it from the Developer Housing.

    2. Release the two retainers from the catch, swing open the retainer and then remove the wire module.

Replace the Developer Housing Wire Module:

  1. Install the new Wire Module:

    1. Place the Wire Module on the Developer Housing and swing the two retainers shut.

    2. Latch each of the two retainers to the catches.

NOTE: Make sure the wire module is properly seated and that the handle at the top of each retainer is securely positioned behind the catch.

  2. Return the Developer Housing to the operating position. See the Related Content for additional information.

CAUTION:Verify that the Developer Housing is fully seated and latched before continuing. Damage to the Developer Housing, PR Belt, and PR Module components can occur if docking is attempted with the Developer Housing not fully seated.

  3. Dock the Photoreceptor Module. See the Related Content for additional information.

  4. Reset the appropriate HFSI counter: See the Related Content for additional information.
