Options such as Scanning (E-mail, Folder, Network, Twain), Security (Disk Overwrite, Secure Watermark), Internet Fax, Server Fax, and Job Based Accounting require purchase and subsequent enabling with a supplied 12 character key before they will work. Software keys are usually included with the kit documentation as a sticker on the manual, or they may be already installed on the device as per the purchase agreement.

The software key must be used to enable the associated option before it is available.

There are several steps involved in setting up and configuring Scan to E-mail. These steps must be done in order to help ensure the successful setup of scan to E-mail.

You may use both the public address book and LDAP or you may choose to use only one of the address books when using Scan to Email. Contact your System Administrator for assistance with configuring the LDAP address book as it requires knowledge of your email server and network environment.

NOTE: You may not use the LDAP address book if you use an Internet Service Provider (ISP) for E-mail.
