Clean the Drum Contacts Inside the Drum Cavity

1. Power off the printer. See the Related Content for additional information.

2. Remove the specific Drum Cartridge (R1 thru R4).

   1. Open the Front Door of the printer.
      
      
      
      

   2. Turn the release lever on the left side of the Drum Cartridge Cover to the left to unlock the cover.
      
      
      
      

   3. Pull the cover open to access the four Drum Cartridges.
      
      
      
      

   4. Grasp the orange handle of the appropriate Drum Cartridge and gently pull it out of the printer.
      
      
      
      

3. Clean or polish the copper contacts on the small circuit board on the Drum assembly.

4. Clean or polish the "spring like" contacts just inside the Drum cavity.

5. Reinstall the Drum Cartridge.

   1. Push the cartridge into the machine until it comes to a stop.
      
      
      
      

   2. Lift up the Drum Cartridge Cover.
      
      
      
      

   3. Turn the release lever on the left side of the Drum Cartridge Cover to the right to lock the Drum Cartridges into position.
      
      
      
      

6. Close the Front Door. If the Front Door is not completely closed a message will be displayed and the machine will not operate.

7. Power on the printer.
