If a fax server is connected to the network, a document can be sent to a fax machine without requiring a dedicated telephone line.
When using the Server Fax, a document is scanned and sent to a fax repository located on the network. The fax server then sends the fax over a telephone line to a fax machine.
NOTE: The Server Fax service must be enabled before use, and a fax repository must be configured.
To send a Server Fax:
Load the original document face-up in the Document Feeder, or one at a time, face-down, on the Document Glass.
Press the [Services Home] button on the Control Panel.
Select the [Sever Fax] button on the Touch Screen.
To address the fax, select one or more of the following:
Use the alphanumeric keypad to manually enter the fax number in the Enter Number and Press Add field, and then select [Add].
Use the keypad on the Touch Screen to enter numerals and characters, such as a Dial Pause in a fax number, and then select [Add]. Add more numbers or select [Close].
Use the [Up] or [Down] arrow buttons to scroll through and select fax numbers from the Fax Directory. Select the contact, and then select [Add to Recipients] from the menu. Select and add more contacts, or select [Close].
Adjust the fax scanning options, if necessary:
Select [2-sided Scanning], and select one of the following:
1-Sided
2-Sided
2-Sided, Rotate Side 2
Select [Original Type], and select one of the following:

Press the [Start] button on the Control Panel. The printer will scan the pages and transmit the documents when all pages have been scanned.
NOTE: If the Document Glass is used to scan two-sided documents, a message will be displayed on the Touch Screen prompting you to place the next original on the glass.
