If Using Java Version 7, Lower the Security Level. If Using Java Version 8, Install a Patch File and Add Exceptions

NOTE: This solution only applies if running Java version 7 or 8 on your computer.
NOTE: Administrator permissions are required to perform this solution. If necessary, contact your System Administrator for additional assistance.
Java made changes to their security settings that may cause issues with opening the Remote Control Panel feature within CentreWare Internet Services. To resolve this problem, follow the steps below to adjust the security settings for Java version 7 or 8 depending on the version installed on your computer.
To find the Java version installed on the computer:
Click on the Start button.
Click on Control Panel.
Click on Programs.
Locate and click on Java in the list displayed. The Java Control Panel window will be displayed.
Locate the Java version. It may be necessary to click on the About button.
Close the window.
Follow the appropriate steps below, depending on the Java version installed.
If Running Java Version 7, Lower the Security Level
Click on the Start button.
Click on Control Panel.
Click on Programs.
Locate and click on Java in the list displayed. The Java Control Panel window will be displayed.
Click on the Security tab.
Reduce the security level to High.
If prompted, accept and acknowledge the security warning pop-up window.
Click on OK.
Close the window.
If Running Java Version 8, Install a Patch File and (if necessary) Add Exceptions to Java
Locate and record the printer's current system software version. This information is required to ensure the correct patch file is downloaded and installed on the printer.
NOTE: The system software version can be found on the Configuration Report. See the Related Content for information on how to print a Configuration Report.Click on the appropriate patch link in the Related Content section depending on the printer's current system software version. Review the Printer Software Version Required column in the table below to determine which file to download.
IMPORTANT: An uninstall file is also provided for each software version should you be required to uninstall the patch. Follow the same instructions below to uninstall the patch except select the required uninstall file (xxxxxxxx_un.dlm) in step 10.Download the 071_Remote_Control_Panel.zip file if the software version is 071.xxx.xxx.xxxxx.

Download and unzip the .zip patch file to a known location on your computer.
Access CentreWare Internet Services.
Open a web browser
Enter the IP Address of the printer in the Address field, and then press Enter. The CentreWare Internet Services home page will be displayed.
Click on the Properties tab.
Click on General Setup from the menu on the left side of the page.
Click on Software Upgrade.
Click on Manual.
Click on Browse.
Browse to the location where the unzipped file is located and select the file.
NOTE: Make sure to select the correct file (install or uninstall file).Click on Install Software to send the file to the printer. The installation process will take several minutes to complete. The progress of the installation will be displayed on the printer's Touch Screen.
After the installation is complete, print a new Configuration Report and check the system software version to ensure it has been updated successfully.
The software version will be appended with .633595.071v1 if software version 071.xxx.xxx.xxxxx is loaded.
The software version will be appended with .633595v1 if software version 072.xxx.xxx.xxxxx is loaded.
Try to open the Remote Control Panel again. If it still does not open, an exception for the printer will need to be added to Java.
To add an exception to Java:Click on the Start button.
Click on Control Panel.
Click on Programs.
Locate and click on Java in the list displayed. The Java Control Panel window will be displayed.
Click on the Security tab.
Click on the Edit Site List button. The Exception Site List window will be displayed.
Click on the Add button.
Enter the printer's IP Address, and then press Enter. For example:
https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
where xxx represents the printer's IP Address.If necessary, repeat step h for any other printers that should be added to the exception table.
Click on OK.
Click on OK again to exit the Java Control Panel window.
