Lower the Security Level in Java Version 7

Java made changes to their security settings that may cause issues with opening the Remote Control Panel feature within CentreWare Internet Services. To resolve this problem, follow the steps below to adjust the security settings.

To find the Java version installed on the computer:

  1. Click on the Start button.

  2. Click on Control Panel.

  3. Click on Programs.

  4. Locate and click on Java in the list displayed. The Java Control Panel window will be displayed.

  5. Locate the Java version. It may be necessary to click on the About button.

  6. Close the window.

  7. Follow the appropriate steps below, depending on the Java version installed.

Lower the Security Level

  1. Click on the Start button.

  2. Click on Control Panel.

  3. Click on Programs.

  4. Locate and click on Java in the list displayed. The Java Control Panel window will be displayed.

  5. Click on the Security tab.

  6. Reduce the security level to High.

  7. If prompted, accept and acknowledge the security warning pop-up window.

  8. Click on OK.

  9. Close the window.
