Use the Annotation (Bates Stamp, Page Numbering, etc) Feature When Making Copies

  1. Press the [Services Home] button on the Control Panel.

  2. Select the [Copy] button on the Touch Screen.

  3. Select the [Output Format] tab.

  4. Select the [Annotation] button.

  5. Select the [On] button.

  6. Select the [Format...] button.

    1. Select the [Portrait] or [Landscape] button from the Orientation section.

    2. Use the [+] or [-] buttons to select the font size. Font size may be set from 6 to 18 points.

    3. Select the [Opaque] or [Transparent] button from the Appearance section.

    4. If “2 sided Output” was selected on the Copy screen, select [Same as Side 1] or [Mirror Side 1 Flip on Short Edge] or [Mirror Side 1 Flip on Long Edge] from the Side 2 section.

    5. Select the [Save] button.

  7. If page numbers are required, select the [Page Numbers] button.

    1. Select the [On] button.

    2. Enter a starting page number in the field provided.

    3. Select where you would like the page number displayed on the output from the Position section.

    4. Select the [Save] button.

  8. If a date is required, select the [Date] button.

    1. Select the [On] button.

    2. Select the required format option from the Format section.

    3. Select where you would like the date displayed on the output from the Position section.

    4. Select [All Pages], [First Page Only] or [All Except Page 1] from the Apply To list.

    5. Select the [Save] button.

  9. If a comment is required, select the [Comment] button.

    1. Select the [On] button.

    2. Select a stored comment from the list, or select the [Edit] button and enter a comment.

    3. Select where you would like the comment displayed on the output from the Position section.

    4. Select [All Pages], [First Page Only] or [All Except Page 1] from the Apply To list.

    5. Select the [Save] button.

  10. If Bates Stamping is required, select the [Bates Stamps] button.

    1. Select the [On] button.

    2. Enter a starting page number in the field provided.

    3. Select the [Prefix] option and use the keyboard to enter a prefix. Up to eight alphanumeric characters can be entered.

    4. Select the [Save] button.

    5. Select where you would like the bates stamp displayed on the output from the Position section.

    6. Select the [Save] button.

  11. Select the [Save] button again.

  12. Select any other required options for the copy job.

  13. Load the originals face-up in the Document Handler or face-down on the Document Glass.

  14. Press the [Start] button on the Control Panel to begin copying.
