NOTE: The Fax over IP (FoIP) feature must be installed and enabled before faxes can be sent or received over the network. In addition, depending on the setup, different configuration settings as well as network devices are required.
Fax over IP Overview
Fax over IP (FoIP) is a purchasable option on the printer. The option allows the printer to send and receive faxes over a network connection using a standard RJ45 port and an Ethernet cable, such as a category 5e or 6 cable using T.38 and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) industry standard protocols. The printer can send and receive faxes from a variety of analog and digital devices including, but not limited to, standard G3 analog faxes and other SIP enabled digital devices.
NOTE: Contact your local Xerox Sales Representative for information on how to purchase this option.
Requirements
There are four connection configurations when setting up the printer for FoIP. Each method has different requirements, as described in the table below. For all configurations, SIP and TCP/IP settings need to be enabled and configured on the printer.
