Xerox Precise Color Management System (PCMS) Software Does Not Recognize the Precise Color Meter When Installed

Determine if the Xerox Precise Color Meter is Faulty 

Note: This solution applies to the VersaLink C9000 Printer only.

Due to a manufacturing error on a small batch of Precise Color Meters, the color meter may not be recognized correctly by the Xerox PCMS software.

To determine if you have one of the faulty Precise Color Meters, perform the following:

  1. Open the Device Manager.

  2. Locate and expand X-Rite Devices to view how the Color Meter is being recognized.

    • Colormunki: If the Color Meter is recognized as colormunki, the meter is faulty. Contact Support for additional assistance with resolving the issue.

    • i1Studio: If the Color Meter is recognized as i1Studio, the meter is being recognized correctly. Additional troubleshooting is necessary to determine the cause of the issue. If needed, contact Support for additional assistance.
