Configure Power Saver Timeouts

You can set the time the printer spends idle in ready mode before it automatically transitions to a lower power level.

To configure Power Saver Timeouts:

  1. Access the printer's Embedded Web Server and log in as a System Administrator.

    1. From your computer or network-connected device (on the same network as the printer) open a Web browser.

    2. In the Web browser address field, enter the IP address of your printer and then press Enter. The Embedded Web Server home page will be displayed.

    3. Click on the Log In button at the top, right of the page. The User Accounts window will be displayed.

    4. Click on admin.

    5. Enter the System Administrator password in the field provided, and then click on the Log In button.

      Note: Depending on when the device was manufactured, the default password may be the device serial number or 1111.

  2. Click System.

  3. Click Power Saver.

  4. To set the delay before the printer enters Low-Power mode, for Low Power Timeout, enter the number of minutes.

  5. To set the delay before the printer enters Sleep mode, for Sleep Timeout, enter the number of minutes.

    Note: Set the timeouts so that the sum of both is within 60 minutes.

  6. Click Auto Power Off, then select an option.

  7. Click OK.

Default Power Saver Settings

The transition time from Ready mode to Low-Power mode can be set up to 60 minutes. The default value is 10 minutes. The transition time from Low-Power mode to Sleep mode can be set up to 60 minutes. The default value is set at 1 minute. The total transition time from Ready mode to Sleep mode can take up to 60 minutes.
