  1. At your computer, open a command prompt:

    1. From the desktop, to open the Run dialog, on your keyboard, press and hold the Windows key, then press R.

    2. In the text field, type cmd, then press Enter or Return. The command prompt screen appears.

  3. In the command prompt screen, type ipconfig, then press Enter or Return. Locate and record the IPv4 address of your Windows computer.

  4. In the command prompt screen, type hostname, then press Enter or Return. Locate and record the host name of your Windows computer.
