Make Sure the Correct Username and Password for the SMB Server Have Been Entered in the Address Book Entry Within the Embedded Web Server

An error will occur when the printer attempts to login to an address entry with an invalid username or password. If necessary, contact your Network or System Administrator for assistance with the correct username, password, or path required for the file repository.

To make sure the username and password entered in the SMB are correct:

  1. Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (Web Interface). See the Related Content for additional information.

  2. Click Address Book.

  3. Click on the address book entry that is configured for SMB.

  4. Click the IP address or Host Name below SMB.

  5. Make sure the correct username / login information is displayed in the Login Name field.

  6. Make sure to enter the correct password in the Password and Retype Password fields.

  7. Click OK to save changes.

  8. Click OK to update the address book entry.
