The printer supports multiple active network connections. To accommodate this, the printer allows you to specify the primary network. If the printer is not connected to the network through the specified primary network, the printer will display an IP address of 0.0.0.0 on the printer's Control Panel and within the Embedded Web Server. The printer may still be on the network, and may still function without issue. If the printer is only connected to one network (wired or wireless), the primary network option should be set to the connected network type.
Note: You must be a System Administrator to perform this procedure as it may require administrator privileges and/or knowledge of your network settings. Depending on when the device was manufactured or the software version installed, the default administrator password may be the device serial number or 1111.
IMPORTANT: Some features or settings are only visible or adjustable when logged in as a System Administrator.
To Set the Primary Network Correctly From the Control Panel
Log in to the Printer's Control Panel as a System Administrator.
Press the Home button.
Touch Device > Connectivity.
Touch Primary Network and select the appropriate network type for how the printer is connected. If the printer is connected with an Ethernet cable, select Ethernet. If the optional Wireless Network Adapter is installed and connected to a wireless network, then select Wi-Fi.
When finished, press the Home button and then select Restart Now to restart the printer.
IMPORTANT: The printer must be restarted for the new setting to take effect.
