Long Edge Feed = LEF
Short Edge Feed = SEF
If a paper size can be loaded LEF or SEF, select LEF to print faster.
Pull the paper tray into the fully open position.
Fan the paper to release sheets that are stuck together.
CAUTION: Do not load paper or media above the fill line indicated on the tray. Overloading the tray may cause jams.Load the paper.
LEF:
One-sided printing: Place side to be printed face-up, with the top of the page toward the rear of the tray. Prepunched holes should be toward the left side of the tray.
Two-sided (automatic) printing: Place side one face-down, with the top of the page toward the rear of the tray. Prepunched holes should be toward the right side of the tray.
SEF:
One-sided printing: Place side one face-up, with the top of the page toward the left side of the tray. Prepunched holes should be toward the front of the tray.
Two-sided (automatic) printing: Place side one face-down, with the top of the page toward the right side of the tray. Prepunched holes should be toward the front of the tray.
Adjust the paper guides to fit the length and width of the paper loaded in the tray.
Push the paper tray completely back into the printer.
Perform one of the following when the Display Screen prompts for confirmation of the type and size of paper in the tray:
To use the current tray setup press the [OK] button.
If a new size or type of paper are loaded in the tray:
Select [Change Setup], and then press the [OK] button.
Select the appropriate paper type, and then press the [OK] button.
NOTE: For sizes that can be loaded in either direction (LEF or SEF), make sure to select the size with the letters "LEF" or "SEF" corresponding to the orientation you have loaded.
If standard-size paper was loaded, select [Auto Select] for the paper size; the tray guides are then used by the printer to determine the paper size in the tray.
If a custom paper size is loaded, select the custom size if already defined. If the custom size is not already defined, select [New Custom Size] for the paper size and follow the prompts.
