NOTE: A message will be displayed on the Control Panel when an Imaging Unit needs to be replaced.
CAUTION: Do not expose an Imaging Unit to direct sunlight or strong light from indoor fluorescent lighting. Image quality may deteriorate if a unit is exposed to light longer than five minutes.
Be careful not to spill Toner (Dry Ink) when handling the Imaging Unit. Do not use warm water or cleaning solvents to remove Toner from your skin or clothing. This will set the Toner and make it difficult to remove. If any Toner gets on your skin or clothing, use a brush to remove the Toner, or wash it off with cold water and mild soap.
Open the Front Door.
Rotate the two lock levers to release the Imaging Unit Door, and then lower it.
Grasp the handle on the Imaging Unit to be replaced, and then pull it halfway out of the printer.
Grasp one side of the unit with the other hand, and then pull the unit straight out of the printer.
Dispose of the unit according to your local recycling or disposal regulations.
NOTE: You can dispose of the used unit in the box that the new unit came in.Remove the new Imaging Unit from its packaging.
NOTE: To protect the unit against overexposure to bright light, do not remove the orange protective covering until after inserting the unit into the printer.Pull the two ribbons out of the new unit and discard them.
Gently slide the Imaging Unit into the slot in the printer.
Remove the orange protective covering from the installed unit and discard it.
Close the Imaging Unit Door.
Rotate the two lock levers to secure the Imaging Unit Door.
Remove the cleaning rod from the back of the Front Door.
Remove the cleaning pad by squeezing the tabs behind the pad.
Unpack a new cleaning pad from the Imaging Unit box.
Attach the new cleaning pad to the cleaning rod.
Insert the cleaning rod into one of the four cleaning holes until it clicks, and then pull it out. Repeat the procedure two more times.
Repeat the process for the other three holes.
Return the cleaning rod to its original location.
Close the Front Door.
