Replace the Bias Transfer Roller

1. Power the printer off. See the Related Content for additional information.
   
   
   
   

2. Open the front cover.
   
   
   
   

3. Remove the toner and drum cartridges by lifting and pulling them straight out of the machine.
   
   
   
   

4. Place the drum cartridge aside and cover it. Do not expose the drum cartridge to light for more than five minutes. Do not touch the green drum.
   
   
   
   

5. Squeeze the clip together to release the bias roller on the right side. Lift the bias roller up on the right side. By lifting the bias roller up it will release on the left side. Set the used bias roller aside to recycle it. Do not recycle the clip.
   
   
   
   

6. Remove the new bias roller from its packaging. Place the short side in the left slot for the bias roller then lay the bias roller flat in its location. Place the new clip over the end of the bias roller on the right side.
   
   
   
   
   
   

7. Return the drum and toner cartridges to the printer.
   
   
   
   

8. Close the front cover.

10. Reset the Bias Roller counter.

    • WorkCentre 3335/3345:

      1. Login then press Machine Status.

      2. Touch Device Settings > Supplies.

      3. Select the item and touch Reset.

    • Phaser 3330:

      1. Touch Tools > Setup > Machine Settings > User interface > Reset Counters. 

      2. Select the item, then touch Reset Now? / Yes .

11. Recycle the used Bias Transfer Roller.
