If connecting to one computer, a USB connection offers fast data speeds. However, a USB connection is not as fast as an Ethernet connection. To use USB, the computer must have Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003 or newer operating system. Apple Macintosh users must use operating system X, version 10.2 and higher.
NOTE: A USB connection requires a standard A/B USB cable. This cable is not included with the printer and must be purchased separately. Make sure that you are using the correct USB (1.x or 2.0) cable for your connection.
Power OFF the computer.
Power OFF the printer. Press the power switch that is located on the front of the printer, on the bottom left side, to the (O) position.
Connect one end of the USB cable to the printer, and then connect the other end of the USB cable to the computer.
Power ON the computer and let it boot up completely.
Power ON the printer.
