Specify Printer Settings for FreeFlow Makeready and FreeFlow Web Services

NOTE: The windows that display when specifying printer settings are dependent on the products installed and specified in the Installed Products window. Therefore, all or some windows may display.

If applicable, specify the print settings for FreeFlow Makeready and FreeFlow Web Services:

  1. Click on [Start], [Programs], then [Xerox FreeFlow Software], [Printer Administration], [Printer Registration]. The Printer Registration window opens.

  2. Click on the [Add] button for the printer.

  3. From the Print Path pull-down menu, select one of the following print path software options:

    • Standard Production Print Path

    • Extended Connectivity Print Job Manager

    • FreeFlow Output Manager.

  4. In the Job Handling Options section, select the appropriate options:

    NOTE: The options listed below are available only if the printer supports the feature. The options are grayed out if the printer does not support the feature.

    • [Optimize Image Quality] — Click on this check box (insert check mark) to optimize the quality of the image during job submission.

    • [Convert PDF to PS] — Click on this check box (insert check mark) to automatically convert PDF files to PostScript.

    • [Print as PDF] — Click on this check box (insert check mark) to print the document as a PDF.

      NOTE: Print as PDF is supported only when submitting to print from FreeFlow Makeready.

    • [Support Legacy DocuSP] — Click on this check box (insert check mark) to enable legacy DocuSP compatibility.

  5. Click on [Next] or [Finish].

If applicable, specify the print settings for FreeFlow Process Manager:

  1. From the Print Path pull-down menu, select one of the following print path software options:

    • Standard Production Print Path

    • Extended Connectivity Print Job Manager

    • FreeFlow Output Manager

  2. In the Job Handling Options section, if available, click on the [Support Legacy DocuSP] check box (insert check mark) to maintain compatibility with DocuSP 3.1 or 2.1 controllers when EFI Velocity Balance has been selected.

    NOTE: Enabling this option changes the job ticket format to maintain controller compatibility.

  3. Enter an FTP user name login for the printer in the FTP Username field. If necessary, contact your System Administrator for this information.

  4. Enter a valid password in the Password field.

  5. Click on [Next] or [Finish].

If applicable, specify the print settings for FreeFlow Print Manager and FreeFlow Output Manager:

  1. From the Print Path pull-down menu, select one of the following print path software options:

    • Standard Print Path

    • LPR

      NOTE: If Standard Print Path is selected the Job Ticket Type is not available.

  2. From the Job Ticket Type pull-down menu, select one of the following job ticket type options:

    • None

    • ACSII (if supported by the printer)

    • XPIF (if supported by the printer)

  3. If the FreeFlow Output Manager Accounting Service is used, complete the following:

    1. Enter the name of the print server in the Print Server Name field.

    2. Enter the file path for accounting data in the Accounting Data File Path field.

    3. Enter the FTP user name in the FTP Username field.

    4. Enter the password for the FTP user in the Password field.

      NOTE: Contact your System Administrator if you do not have this information.

  4. Click on [Finish].
