Download and Install the Global Print Driver (GPD)

NOTE: This solution assumes that the correct Global Print Driver for this product and the OS being used has been downloaded and extracted to a known location on the hard drive. If necessary, click on the [Drivers & Downloads] link on this window to download the print driver

  1. When the download is complete, find the downloaded file and double-click on it.

  2. Follow the prompts and select [Install] to extract the print driver files to your local hard drive under C:\\Xerox\\GPD-xxxxxxxxxx.

  3. When the extraction is complete, the Add a Printer wizard will start automatically. Click on [Add a Local Printer].

  4. Choose a printer Port, select the printer Port from this list, and then click [Next].

    NOTE: If a Standard TCP/IP Port is not already in the list, you can:

    1. Click on [Create a new Port].

    2. For Type of Port, select [Standard TCP/IP Port], and then click [Next].

    3. Enter the IP address of the printer in the field provided.

    4. Click to uncheck the [Query the printer and automatically select the printer to use] option.

    5. Click [Next] and wait a few minutes for Windows to proceed. If a message is displayed saying that additional port information is required, and you are confident that the IP address you entered is correct, click [Next].

  5. When prompted to install the printer driver, click on [Have Disk].

  6. Click [Browse].

  7. Select the [C: drive] (labeled something like SYSTEM (C:)) from the Look In menu.

  8. Double-click on the [Xerox] folder.

  9. Double-click on the [GPD-xxxxxxxxxx] folder.

  10. Click to highlight the [.inf] file and then click on [Open].

  11. Click on [OK].

  12. Select the [Xerox Global Print Driver] from the list and click [Next].

  13. If prompted, select to [Replace the current driver]. and click [Next].

  14. Enter a name for the printer, such as Xerox Global Print Driver (this can be anything you want it to be, limited by Windows 7 naming convention only), and then click [Next].

  15. Select [Do Not Share] unless this computer will be used as a Print Server, and then click [Next].

  16. If necessary, click on [Print a Test Page].

  17. If required, set this printer to be your default printer and then click on [Finish].
