IPv4 Connectivity Error, Duplicate IPv4 Address Detected Message

Note: You must be a System Administrator to perform this procedure as it may require administrator privileges and/or knowledge of your network settings.

Step 1: Ping the Xerox device to determine if there is a duplicate IP Address

  1. Disconnect the Ethernet / network cable from the Xerox device. 

  2. Ping the IP Address assigned to the Xerox device.   For additional information, click on Ping the Printer.

    • If a reply is received when you ping the device, there is a duplicate IP address on your network.  Contact your System Administrator for additional assistance to resolve the duplicate IP address.  

    • If there is no reply when you ping the device, additional assistance is required.  Contact your System Administrator for additional assistance to resolve the network issue. 

  3. Plug the Ethernet / network cable back into the Xerox device. 

Step 2:  Assign a new IP Address to the Xerox device if a duplicate IP address is found

For additional information, click on Configure, Modify or Verify TCP/IP Settings (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway Address).
