Install CentreWare Web (CWW) on a Workstation With Microsoft Windows Operating System (OS)

To install Xerox CentreWare Web (CWW), the following System Requirements are needed:
CentreWare Web is designed to be installed only on specific workstations running Microsoft Windows operating systems (OS). Contact your System Administrator if you are not sure whether your workstation meets these requirements.
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 OS:
Workstation with a 600 MHz or higher Pentium III processor recommended
512 MB of RAM or higher recommended; (256 MB supported, but may limit performance)
3 GB of available disk space
TCP/IP
Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.05 or greater
NTFS security access checking is recommended
Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 Professional OS:
Workstation with a 600 MHz or higher Pentium III processor recommended
512 MB of RAM or higher recommended; (256 MB supported, but may limit performance)
3 GB of available disk space
TCP/IP
Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.05 or greater; to install it, use the Windows Operating System CD or equivalent
NTFS security access checking is recommended
To Install CWW:
Open an Internet browser window on the workstation.
Enter www.xerox.com/centrewareweb in the Address field, then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The CentreWare Web window will be displayed.
Click on [Free Software Download] under the Product Information heading.
Select the language you require, then specify a location where you want to download the software. The software will download to the workstation.
After the download has finished, double-click on the [Setup.exe] file to begin the installation process.
Click [Next] on the Startup window. The Select the Components to Install window will be displayed.
Click on the check box next to [Install Xerox CentreWare Web] to insert a check mark.
Click [Next]. The Specify Run-As Password window will be displayed.
Enter a password in the Password field, then enter the password again in the Confirm field.
Click [Next]. The SQL Server Selection window will be displayed.
Click on the [Install MSDE] radio button unless you have an existing SQL server where you want to store the data. If you have an existing SQL server you will need to click on that radio button and enter the required information in the fields provided.
Enter the database password you in the Password and Confirm fields, then click [Next]. The E-mail Settings window will be displayed. Use this window to configure CWW to send timely e-mail updates and information about meter reads.
Enter the fully qualified domain name of your SMTP server or IP Address of the mail server in the field provided. For example, mail.domain.com.
Enter your 'From Address' in the form of user@domain.com.
NOTE: This will be the address that CentreWare Web messages will appear to come from.If your SMTP Server requires a user name and password, enter the user name and password in the fields provided, then click [Next]. The Authentication Settings window will be displayed.
If the workstation that is used to access CWW is using Microsoft Windows 95 or 98 OS, read the information, and if necessary, click on the check box next to [Allow Basic Authentication] to insert or remove the check mark. The option is selected when a check mark is displayed.
If your workstation uses a different operating system, click on the check box to remove the check mark, then click [Next]. The Destination Folder window will be displayed.
NOTE: This does not change where MSDE will be installed, MSDE will still be installed on the system drive.Click [Next], or if you want to select where CWW is installed on your workstation, click on [Change...], select where you want to install CWW, then click [Next]. The Ready to Install the Program window will be displayed.
Click on [Install]. The Completing the Xerox CentreWare Web Setup wizard window will be displayed.
NOTE: The installation could take several minutes.Click on the check box next to [Launch Xerox CentreWare Web now].
If necessary, click on the check box next to [View Readme] if you want to read about the latest information and updates to CWW.
Click on [Finish].
