NOTE: A label above each ink bin indicates the color and color number for that bin. Each Ink Stick has a number that corresponds to the number on the ink loading bin. Each Ink Stick is uniquely shaped to fit into the correct ink loading bin. Do not force the Ink Stick into the ink loading bin.
CAUTION: Use of Ink other than Genuine Xerox Solid Ink for 8500|8550|8560 may affect print quality and printer reliability. It is the only ink designed and manufactured under strict quality controls by Xerox for specific use with this printer.
Remove any paper from the Output Tray.
Raise the ink loader Top Cover.
Determine if an ink well is low:
Press the Ink Cover switch located to the right of the yellow ink stick well.
If the Control Panel displays a 'Ready to Print' message, continue with step 4. If the Control Panel still displays an 'Out of Ink' or 'Ink Low' message, contact support for additional assistance.
Check the ink levels. Icons on the side of the ink loader bin indicate ink fill levels. The Ink Low icon on the side of the ink loader bin and the horizontal line on each bin indicate the level at which the printer will declare that one of the ink colors is low.
Replace the ink, if necessary. See the Related Content for additional information.
Close the Top Cover.
