Too much moisture can cause excessive curl, jams, and print quality problems.
Moisture levels that are too low may cause static problems, which can also lead to jams and misfeeds as well as causing difficulties in post processing (Finishing) paper handling.
The best performance in Xerox digital printing systems comes with papers that have nominal moisture content of 4.5%. A variation of as little as 1% from the ideal value of 4.5% moisture content can cause problems.
If the moisture level of the paper paper is too high or too low, replace the paper with new dry paper. See the Related Content section for additional information.
Temperature and humidity affect the quality of the printed output. The guaranteed range for optimal print quality is 10–28°C (50–83°F) and 15–85% relative humidity.
If you are using coated paper, feed one sheet at a time or try loading the paper in the Bypass Tray. See the Related Content section for additional information.
CAUTION: The Bypass Tray (Tray 5) was designed to only lower to a 45 degree angle. Do not force the tray past this angle or it will break.
