Using the Basic Finishing Module (BFM)

The Basic Finishing Module (BFM) allows you to finish your jobs with features such as:

What the LED means

LED is Off = Stacker is accepting sheets (Do not open BFM front door)

LED is Steady = Stacker tray is lowering (Do not open BFM front Door)

LED is Blinking = OK to open stacker door.

Selecting the BFM or BFM Plus finisher as the output device.

  1. Select the Output tab from a Job or Queue Properties window.
  2. Select [Stapling/Finishing: Output Location].
  3. Select [Finisher 'X'].
  4. Select either:
    System Specified
    Auto Switch
    Main Stacker
    Top Tray

BFM Stacker Settings

  1. Select [Print Manager: Stacking tab].
  2. Right click on <Finisher 'X'> and select Settings.
  3. Set Offset Stacking setting:
    Enable Between Job Offsetting
    Allow PDL Override
  4. Set Unload After:
    Job
    Limit
    Partition
    Set
    Job/Partition

BFM Stacker Limits

  1. Select [Print Manager: Stacking tab].
  2. Right click on <Finisher 'X'> and select Stacker Limits.
  3. Set Stacking Limits:
    Main Stacker 200 - 3000 sheets
    Bindexer Capacity 15 - 1000 sheets per unstapled set chunk (or leave blank for Automated Bindexer). The system uses the lower of the manual or automatic setting.

BFM Set Registration

  1. Select [Print Manager: Stacking tab].
  2. Right click on <Finisher 'X'> and select Stacker Limits.
  3. Set Set Registration Quality:
    Improve Set Registration - improves curl with jobs that have two staples.
    Improve Initial Pages Registration - improves curl within sets.

 

Note

NOTE: When running smaller stapled sets (15 sheets or less), limit the quantity to 100 maximum. Unload the stacker after each quantity is completed.
