TCP/IP (Enabling LPD for LPR Printing) B1b
NOTE: This procedure should have been performed as
part of the Required Set Up Steps contained in this guide. The procedure is
repeated here in case the Line Printer Daemon becomes disabled and needs to
be re-enabled as described below.
NOTE: Information pertaining to the Xerox Nuvera® Digital Copier/Printer is identified as the DC, ST or Office Systems. Information pertaining to the Xerox Nuvera® Digital Production System and Xerox Nuvera® 288 Digital Perfecting System are identified as NP/NP+ or Production System.
- Select Logon... from the Logon menu.
- Select System Administrator as the user from the User drop-down
list box.
- Enter the System Administrator password (administ,
for example). If necessary, refer to your Xerox Service Representative for
the initial logon password.
- Select OK.
- From the system's Setup menu, select Gateways.
- Select the LPD tab.
- If it is not already enabled by factory default,
select the Enabled radio button for Line Printer Daemon (LPD).
- Select the Enabled radio button for LPD Default
Queue.
Note: For Production (NP/NP+) systems, with numerous
internal printer queues set up with Queue Manager, if this setting is disabled,
client LPR ports can be configured to send jobs to your queue of choice.
- Leave the LPD Port at its default value of 515.
(Note: LPD listens on port 515 for incoming TCP connections from clients.)
- Click Apply or OK to save your settings. If you
clicked Apply, click Cancel to close the window.
- To log off, select Logoff from the Logon menu.
